Women's Basketball Wins 72-44 at Springfield Tech

Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball (8-4) enters winter break on a winning note evening after defeating Springfield Tech on the road 72-44.

The Vikings had four student-athletes reach double-digit scoring with Hannah Kreiger (Brunswick/Tamarac) leading all scorers as she finished with a game-high 17 points. Kali Szczepanski (Las Vegas/Watervliet) added 13 points in the Vikings win.

Cameran Henderson (Green Island/Heatly) came off the bench to spark the Vikings offense in the first half. Henderson scored all 10 of her points in the the first 20 minutes of the game as Hudson Valley entered halftime with a 31-20 advantage. Taylor Engster (Troy/Catholic Central) also scored in double-figures for Hudson Valley as she totaled 15 points, including three 3-point field goals.

The Vikings win ends a two-game losing streak as they head into the four-week hiatus. The basketball team returns to action on Jan. 9 when they travel to face Columbia-Greene in Hudson, N.Y. at 5 p.m.
