Women's Basketball's Win Streak Snapped by Finger Lakes

Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball (6-2) had its five game winning streak snapped after Finger Lakes defeated the Vikings 62-36 on Saturday afternoon inside the McDonough Sports Complex.

The Vikings high-powered offense was held in check by Finger Lakes this afternoon as the Vikings were held to 12 made field goals and a season-low 36 points. Hannah Kreiger (Brunswick/Tamarac) led the Vikings in scoring with eight points on two made three-point baskets and a pair of free throws.

As a team, the Vikings were held under 15 points in each quarter by the tenacious Finger Lakes defense. The Lakers' Sarah Lacey led all scorers with 21 points, scoring 14 points in the second half of the game.

The Vikings are back at it tomorrow as they welcome Corning Community College at 12 p.m. in the McDonough Sports Complex.
