Women's Basketball Dominates Kingsborough 98-62

Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball (4-1) won their third straight game after defeating Kingsborough Community College 98-62 on Saturday afternoon in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Hannah Kreiger (Brunswick/Tamarac) led all scorers with 27 points, including 7-for-15 from behind the 3-point arc. Kreiger helped the Vikings extend its halftime lead to 56-22 as she scored 19 of her points in the first half. Asali Valentine (Elmhurst/Academy of American Studies) added 17 points, with 11 points coming in the first half.

Taylor Engster (Troy/Catholic Central) also had the hot hand this afternoon, scoring 18 points for the Vikings, including 4-for-7 from behind the arc. Engster also dished out six assists as the Vikings offense exploded for 98 points, the most points scored by the women's basketball program in over 10 years when they defeated Adirondack 102-62 on Feb. 6, 2007.

Kali Szczepanski (Las Vegas/Watervliet) scored 12 points and Cameran Henderson (Green Island/Heatly) added 10 points in the win.

The Vikings are back on the road tomorrow, Sunday, Nov. 19 to take on Schenectady at 1 p.m.
