The Hudson Valley Community College softball student-athlete, Carly Gemmett, was named the NJCAA Region 3 Softball Player of the Week, as announced by Region 3 on Tuesday afternoon.

Gemmett pitched the Vikings to a 2-0 record with wins over Broome and Mohawk Valley this week. She tossed 9 complete innings and struck out 13 batters in a win over Mohawk Valley as the Vikings won a key Region 3 match up 4-3 in the opener of the double header.

The softball program returns to action on Thursday, April 13 as they host Monroe College at 3 p.m. for a non-league doubleheader at the Vikings Softball Field.
