Softball Defeated by WVU Potomac

The Hudson Valley Community College softball team fell to 1-4 on the season after dropping a 9-1 game to WVU Potomac State on Wednesday afternoon in Myrtle Beach, SC.  

Game 1
WVU Potomac State 9, Hudson Valley 1

The Vikings fell behind early and couldn't recover in the 9-1 loss to WVU Potomac State. Potomac State started early and scored multiple runs in three innings, to force the eight-run rule after the fifth inning. 

The Vikings out-hit Potomac State 7-6, but WVU Potomac State collected timely hitting with an added advantage of seven walks by Hudson Valley pitchers. Skylar BurnsAlyssa SmithGabriella CastiglioneHannah TaylorGianna BuccieroAlexis Baker and Abigayle Campbell all had one hit to lead the Vikings offensively. 

Game 2
Hudson Valley vs. Southeastern Community College-Whiteville 

The second game scheduled between Southeastern Community College – Whiteville was canceled due to rain. 

On Deck for Softball:
The Vikings close out their Myrtle Beach trip tomorrow, Thursday, March 17 when they kick off the day at 9:30 a.m. against Sussex and close out the day the same way the trip began, with a matchup against Herkimer College at 1:30 p.m.
