The Hudson Valley Community College softball team (10-10) lost to No. 7 Corning Community College (28-7) 14-8 on Tuesday afternoon in the opening round of the Regional Tournament.
Hudson Valley jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, but a 10-run inning from Corning was too much for the Vikings to overcome. Jessica James (Greenwich/Greenwich) led the team with a homerun, and Courtney McDonnell (Shenendehowa/Clifton Park) and Brittany Ubrich (Mechanicville/Mechanicville) each added two hits in the loss.
The softball team finishes the season with a 10-10 record.
