Courtney McDonnell (Shenendehowa/Clifton Park) of the Hudson Valley Community College softball team (6-4) earned Region 3 Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday afternoon.
McDonnell had a solid week at the plate for the Vikings collecting nine hits in 16 at-bats (.563), including a homerun. She had a .528 on-base-percentage and a .676 slugging percentage, and was equally effective on the bases and in the field, picking up 7 steals with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
The team travels to Clinton today for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
