The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region III softball coaches recognized four Hudson Valley Community College players on the All-Region Team.
Sophomore outfielders Annemarie Nelson (Nassau/Columbia High School) and Natalie Schroll (Loudonville/Academy of Holy Names) earned First Team honors. Freshman pitcher Kim Wintergerst (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School) and sophomore second baseman Mindy McDonough (Lansingburgh/Lansingburgh High School) were named to the Second Team.
Nelson hit .424 (36-for-85) and drove in a team-best 25 runs. She finished the year with four doubles, four triples and a home run.
Schroll led the team with a .465 (20-for-43) batting average and had nine RBI.
Wintergerst finished the season with 0.46 earned run average, which ranks the best in NJCAA Division III. She sported a 10-5 record, striking out 71 batters in 90.1 innings pitched.
McDonough hit .358 (29-for-81) and drove in 11 runs. She drew a team-high 17 walks, striking out only four times.
Hudson Valley finished the season with a 21-9 record, which is its 18th consecutive winning season.
