Cross Country Competes at Fred Pavlich Invitational

The Hudson Valley men's and women's cross country programs competed in the Fred Pavlich Invitational on Saturday morning, hosted by Bard College in Annandale-On-Hudson, NY.

The women's program finished the 6K race in 16thout of 18 teams. Hudson Valley was led by freshman McKenzie Ryan, who finished the race in 59thplace and posted a time of 28:21. Anna Clarke placed 92ndoverall with a final time of 30:55.

Rounding out the Vikings scoring were Michaela Troy (33:15), Rachel Dempsey (33:22) and Emily Maynard (44:58). 

The men's cross country team finished their 8K race in 17thof 20 qualifying teams. Leading the way for the Vikings was Joseph Degiorgio. Degiorgio finished the race in 84thplace with an official time of 30:41.  Ryan Bruce was the second Vikings runner to cross the finish line and he posted a time of 31:27.

Rounding out the men's scoring were Dermot O'Connor(33:20), Justin Caron (35:19) and Ethan Welkley (37:03).

Brett Labier posted a time of 37:19, Oswaldo Arias finished with a time of 40:20 and Edgar Alamo-Benitez had a time of 48:43.

The cross county programs are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 28 when they travel to participate in the Cazenovia College Invitational.
