The Hudson Valley men's and women's cross country programs competed at the Steven A. Warde Invitational hosted by SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday morning in Cobleskill, NY.
The women's program finished seventh out of 10 teams, which included nine four-year programs. Hudson Valley was led by freshman McKenzie Ryan, who finished the 6K race in 12thplace and posted a time of 26:52.90. Anna Clarke placed 36thoverall with a final time of 29:27.64.
Rounding out the Vikings scoring were Michaela Troy (57th), Rachel Dempsey (79th) and Emily Maynard (84th).
The men's cross country team finished their 8K race in eighth place out of 11 qualifying teams. Leading the way for the Vikings was Joseph Degiorgio. Degiorgio finished the race in 20thplace with an official time of 30:07.19. Dermot O'Connor just missed a top-20 finish as he placed 22ndwith a time of 30:23.32.
Rounding out the men's scoring were Ryan Bruce (33rd), Evan Rogotzke (46th) and Ethan Welkley (74th).
The cross county programs are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 21 when they travel south to participate in the Bard College Invitational at 11 a.m.
