Cross Country Runs at NJCAA Region III Meet

Hudson Valley Community College men's cross country team competed in the NJCAA Region III meet at Finger Lakes Community College on Saturday morning.
The men's program finished 6th out of six teams and combined for an average time of 36:48.8 in the five-mile race. Holden Maynard (Rotterdam/Mohonasen) was the first Vikings runner to cross the finish line and placed seventh overall with a final time of 31:06.4.
Anton Conto (Glenville/Niskayuna) placed 18th overall and was the second Vikings runner to cross the finish line with a time of 32:43.0. Sophomore Jeremy Marcy (Menands/Shaker) placed 28th overall with an official time of 34:23.2.
The Vikings final two runners were Parker Swierzewski (Valatie/LaSalle) and Nathanael Savasta (Coxsackie/Coxsackie-Athens). Swierzewski placed 34th with a time of 39:29.5 and Savasta finished 40th with a final time of 46:21.6.
The men's cross country program is back in action on Saturday, Nov. 4 as they travel to Holyoke, Mass. To participate in the NJCAA Nationals meet.
