Track and Field Competes in Day Two of Nationals

The Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's track and field program each tallied six team points during day two of the NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Mohawk Valley.
The women's program scored points in two events, the javelin throw and the shot put. In the shot put. Iamies Hassan placed seventh overall as she reached a distance of 9.19m in her final throw of the day. Siri Sorenson also tallied a point with her eighth-place finish, tossing the shot put a final distance of 8.89m. In the javelin throw, Jessica Slingerland placed sixth overall with a final throw of 26.07m.
The men's program tallied six points in the Decathlon as the Region 3 champion, Dylan Lawless, finished third overall with a final 10-event score of 4,374. The men's team now has 16 team points and ranks ninth in the overall team standings.
The men's and women's track and field program return to action tomorrow for the final day of the 2024 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships beginning at 9 a.m. at Mohawk Valley Community College.
