Robson Leads Men's Track & Field at Swanson Invitational

The Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's track and field program battled through the elements and competed at the Elmer Swanson Invitational hosted by Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn. On Saturday afternoon.

The men's program had eight, top-10 finishes on the day as the Vikings competed against several four-year institutions in their first outdoor meet of the season.

In the jump events, Brooks Robson led the charge as he won the men's long jump event with a final distance of 6.64-meters, which converts to 21' 9.5". Robson achieve this distance on his second jump of the day. Robson also won the men's triple jump event, posting an official distance of 13.91-meters or 45' 7.75". Dylan Lawless added a top-5 finish for the Vikings in the men's high jump, placing third overall with a mark of 1.80-meters (5' 10.75").

Raj Hillhouse had a strong showing in the men's 100-meter dash as he placed eighth overall with a time of 11.62 seconds. In the 400-meter dash, Benjamin Ross finished fourth overall and posted a time of 52.50.

In the distance events, Adam Blough also ran well in the 10,000-meters event as he placed sixth overall and posted an official time of 40:45.29.

Connor Holt and Camden Hartshorn earned top-10 finishes in the men's pole vault event. Holt placed eighth overall with a mark of 3.35m (10' 11.75") and Hartshorn was right behind him in ninth place with a jump of 3.20-meters (10' 6").

The men's track and field program returns to action on Saturday, April 6 when they travel to compete in the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitation hosted by Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, Mass.
