Brooks Robson Wins a Pair of Events at Wesleyan Indoor Meet

The Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's track and field program saw its first action of the 2024 season as they traveled to participate in the Wesleyan Indoor Invitational on Saturday morning in Middletown, Conn.

Last season's All-American, Brooks Robson won two individual events, the long jump and the triple jump, against quality competition from four-year institutions. In the long jump, Robson tallied a winning distance of 6.80-meters, which he achieved on his second attempt on the day. In the triple jump, Robson won with a distance of 13.89-meters, which he hit on his first scored jump of the day.

Dean Smith placed 10th in the men's 200-meters dash with a time of 25.03 seconds and he also placed sixth overall in the pole vault, connecting on a height of 3.20-meters. Camden Hartshorn also earned a top-10 finish in the pole vault, vaulting a height of 2.90-meters. In the men's high jump, newcomer Tyrese Pratt placed fifth overall with a jump of 1.76-meters.

In the distance events, Cole Harris led the Vikings with a seventh-place finish in the 3,000-meters event, posting an official time of 10:02.44. Adam Blough placed 16th and William Petramale finished 18th overall with times of 10:56.94 and 11:13.04, respectively.
