Track and Field All-Region Honors Announced

The 2023 NJCAA Region 3 Men's and Women's All-Region teams were announced by the Region 3 track and field sports committee on Monday afternoon with 13 Hudson Valley student-athletes earned the All-Region recognition based on their performances at the NJCAA Region 3 Championships on Saturday, May 6 at HVCC.
The women's program had three individuals win their events and were recognized as First-Team All-Region recipients. Ellicia Swedish won the women's 3,000m Steeplechase event and Isabella Guyer and Alyssa Bruno took home the Region 3 titles in the women's hammer throw and women's heptathlon, respectively.
The men's program had 10 individuals earn All-Region accolades, with Charles Benichoux, Demetrius Williams, Brooks Robson and Jalen Graham earning recognition in multiple events. Benichoux defended his Region 3 titles by winning the men's 100m dash and 200m dash events. Demetrius Williams took home the Region 3 championships in both hurdle events, winning the men's 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles. Benichoux was also a winning member of the men's 4x400 relay team with Anthony Johnson, Ben Ross and Xavier Hughes.
Brooks Robson is a three-time Region 3 champion and All-Region performer as he won the men's long jump and the men's triple jump events. He was also a member of the winning 4x100 men's relay with Jonathan Hanna, Dylan Lawless and Daniel Honsinger.
Jalen Graham had a great day throwing the discus and the hammer over the weekend. Graham was named All-Region after winning the discus with a distance of 38.95m and the hammer throw with a distance of 41.36m.
The men's and women's track and field programs return to action this week as they travel to Mohawk Valley Community College to compete in the 2023 NJCAA Men's and Women's Outdoor National Championships on May 11-13, 2023 in Utica, NY.
