Track and Field's Meet Cut Short for Weather

The Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's track and field programs had their meet at Middlesex College cut short due to inclement weather, which included several bouts of thunder and lightning.

Prior to the suspension of the meet, the men's track and field program accumulated 6.2 points and placed 17th overall. Guerin Dupuis collected four points as he placed fourth overall in the men's men put event with an official throw of 12.52m.

The men's 4x100 menter relay team of Jonathan Hanna, Dylan Lawless, Brooks Robson and Daniel Honsinger took home sixth place with a time of 45.21 seconds and added two points to the team's total. 

The women's team did not score any points in the meet, but did participate in several events before the weather delay. Sanbegoure Meda placed 22nd overall in the women's 400m event with a time of 1:10.84 and Sophie Ericson placed 14th overall in the women's discus throw with a distance of 24.71m. Isabella Guyer also competed in the discus throw and she hit a final distance of 17.94m.

The track and field programs return to action this Saturday, April 22 as they compete in the Bobbi Palma Spring Classic at UAlbany.
