Jeffrey York Named Hudson Valley Community College Track & Field Coach
Hudson Valley Community College Interim Director of Athletics Justin Hoyt has announced Jeffrey York as the head coach of the college’s new men’s and women’s track and field programs. Both programs will be added for the 2017-18 academic year with York at the helm, giving Hudson Valley 17 NJCAA Division III athletics programs.

Hudson Valley Community College Interim Director of Athletics Justin Hoyt has announced Jeffrey York as the head coach of the college's new men's and women's track and field programs. Both programs will be added for the 2017-18 academic year with York at the helm, giving Hudson Valley 17 NJCAA Division III athletics programs.
A native of Troy and graduate of Troy High School, York is familiar with the high schools and programs in the area, and plans to begin recruiting this spring semester in preparation for the 2017-18 season.
A graduate of the University at Albany, York was inducted into the university's Track and Field Wall of Fame in 2016 and into the Athletics Hall of Fame in 2000. York was a five-time NCAA champion, including three titles in the 110-meter high hurdles and two in the 55-meter high hurdles. He also was an eight-time All-American in the 110-meter high hurdles, 55-meter high hurdles, and 4x400-meter relay.
York became UAlbany's first-ever Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes of America (IC4A) champion in 1995, when he ran the 55-meter high hurdles in a time of 7.23 seconds, the fastest time in UAlbany history. In addition to holding the UAlbany record for 55-meter high hurdles, he also owns the 110-meter high hurdles mark with a time of 13.74 seconds. During the 1994-95 season, York earned the University Male Athlete of the Year award.
York continued to compete after college in numerous U.S. Olympic-affiliated races, including the U.S. Olympic Festival of 1995, where he finished in fifth place in the 110-meter high hurdles. York was also the Penn Relay Olympic Development Champion for the 110-meter high hurdles in both 1999 and 2001.
