Bio
Hudson Valley Community College's Director of Athletics, Justin Hoyt, has announced the appointment of Matthew Snow as the new head coach of the Vikings men's soccer team.
Coach Snow brings an impressive blend of experience, leadership, and passion for the game. Most recently, he served as the program's assistant and goalkeeper coach under Devon Tomson. In that role, he played a pivotal part in recruiting efforts, player development, and tactical match preparation. His dedication to fostering both the athletic and personal growth of student-athletes makes him an ideal leader for the program.
"Matt is a passionate, dedicated, and incredibly knowledgeable coach who has already made a tremendous impact on our student-athletes," said Justin Hoyt, Director of Athletics at Hudson Valley. "We are confident that under his leadership, our men's soccer program will continue to grow and build upon the foundation established over the last six years under Coach Tomson."
In addition to his work at HVCC, Snow serves as Director of Goalkeeping and Head Coach at Greenbush Soccer Club and is currently a team training coach with Beestera Soccer. He previously coached the New York Shockers Women's Team in the WPSL. His career is marked by a deep commitment to player development and a clear coaching philosophy: building great players and even better people.
"I would like to thank Director of Athletics Justin Hoyt, as well as the administration and search committee, for giving me the opportunity to lead the men's soccer program here at HVCC," said Matt Snow. "Devon (Tomson) has left the program in a great place, and I look forward to continuing its development and growth. I'm excited to complete our recruiting class for the fall season and work toward further developing our players and program. I started my professional career here at HV, and I'm proud to begin my head coaching career here as well."
Snow holds a Master of Science in Fitness & Wellness Leadership from SUNY Plattsburgh and a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from Dominican College, where he also played NCAA Division II men's soccer. His credentials include a USSF D License, multiple grassroots coaching certifications, and a Goalkeeping Level 1 Diploma from United Soccer Coaches.
