The Hudson Valley Community College men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 home match to Fulton-Montgomery at the Outdoor Athletic Complex on Sunday afternoon on the campus of HVCC.
The game was a tale of two halves as the Vikings carried the momentum and a 1-0 advantage into the halftime break. On the backside of the break, the Fulton-Montgomery Raiders scored three straight goals in the span of three minutes and the Vikings were not able to convert on late game scoring opportunities.
Hudson Valley scored first at the 16:41 mark in the opening half. Off of a free kick by Harry Rubinstein (Saratoga Springs / Stillwater), Michael Robyck (Ballston Spa / Ballston Spa) collected the pass in mid-air and sent a shot to the left side of the keeper for the goal.
For the Raiders, Carlos Pazos scored twice on back-to-back chances at the 28:05 and the 27:50 mark in the second half. Bradley Warren provided the insurance goal at the 25:00 mark.
The men's soccer team returns to the pitch on Wednesday, Sept. 25 as they travel to take on SUNY Broome in Binghamton, NY. The game is scheduled to kick around 3 p.m., following the completion of the women's soccer game vs. Broome at 1 p.m.
