The Hudson Valley Community College men's soccer team brought their record to 1-1-1 on Saturday, earning their first win of the season going 3-0 against Erie Community College.
The Vikings opened the game early with Joseph Davis scoring the first goal just one minute in. Davis went on to score his second of the game six minutes later, a rebound off the Erie keeper. Davis tallied three shots on the day, two being goals.
The third and final goal came off the head of Camryn Curet with twenty minutes left in the second half. The freshman received a cross off a corner from teammate Vincent Scavullo and slotted a towering header past the keeper.
Viking's goalie William Brown earned a shutout, only having to save two shots due to the Vikings dominating defense.
The Vikings hit the road next week as they travel to play Skidmore College on Tuesday, September 10th. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start in Saratoga Springs, NY.
