The Hudson Valley Community College men's soccer program left Binghamton with a well-earned tie as they had to fight back from two goals down and had to settle with a 3-3 tie at the end of regulation.

Following nearly 30-plus minutes to start the game, the Broome Hornets jumped ahead of the Vikings on a penalty kick by Nathaniel Wojcik. Less than three minutes later, Wojcik scored again to build Broome's lead and all of the game's momentum was shifting to the Hornets.

However, the Vikings regrouped and scored their first goal of the game at the 38:38 mark in the game when Brennan Halbohm scored on a corner kick by Jadon Scott, cutting the lead in half and trailed 2-1 at the halftime break.

Coming out of the half, Hudson Valley, Halbohm connected for his second goal of the game, this time on an assist from Phenyo Ward and the game was now tied at 2-2 with a little under 30-minutes remaining in the game. Minutes later, the Vikings were awarded a penalty kick and Faisal Rahmani pushed the Vikings ahead 3-2 as he successfully converted on the penalty kick attempt.

The game ended in heartbreak as Broome's Yuri Brich hit the game-tying goal with 37 seconds remaining in the game to force the tie and prevented the Vikings from securing a quality Region 3 road win.

The men's soccer team has another tough matchup ahead as they welcome nationally-ranked Cayuga to the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of HVCC this Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m.
