The Hudson Valley Community College men's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by Jefferson at the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of HVCC on Wednesday evening.
The short-handed Vikings competed well against the Cannoneers, but managed three shots of goal and one corner kick, compared to Jefferson's 10 corner kicks and seven shots of goal. Jefferson managed to score two goals, one in each half, including a successful penalty kick at the 48th minute of the game, which padded the lead and kept the Vikings offense at bay.
The men's soccer team returns to action this Saturday, Sept. 9 for a Region 3 match against Genesee. The game is scheduled to begin at 3:15 p.m. at the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of HVCC, following the completion of the women's soccer game.
