The Hudson Valley Community College men's soccer program extended its win streak to five straight games after they earned a tough road win 4-2 against North Country on Wednesday afternoon in Saranac Lake, NY.

The Vikings five-game win streak is the longest by the program since they won five straight in 2017. This season is also the best start to a season by the men's soccer program since the 2017 season when they started the year off 5-1.

Halfway through the first half, the Saints put a goal on the board at the 26-minute mark. The Vikings responded 10-minutes later when Poe Tutu completed a breakaway opportunity with his first goal of the season. Tutu also scored right before the halftime break at the four-minute mark on an assist from Anthony Rouse. Rouse sent a quick cross inside the 18-box to find Tutu for the goal and the Vikings entered the break leading 2-1.

In the second half, Hudson Valley remained focused and quickly added their third goal of the game. Ben Pierson collected a corner kick from Ty Plumley and finished with the goal, right by the Saint keeper.

With the Vikings leading 3-1, the Saints tried to cut into the deficit when they scored at the 40-minute mark in the second half. But Rouse and Abbas Ghulam connected for another late game goal, giving Hudson Valley an insurance goal at the 14-minute mark.

The Vikings return home this Sunday, Sept. 25 for Homecoming Weekend as they welcome Herkimer College to the Outdoor Athletic Complex for a men's and women's doubleheader beginning with the men's game at 1 p.m.
