The Hudson Valley men's soccer program dropped their 2019 season opener 1-0 to Fulton-Montgomery on Tuesday evening at the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College.

The low scoring affair had several exciting moments throughout the game, but the Vikings were not able to convert on some scoring opportunities. In the first half, Rayan Mama Amadou sent a lazer shot to the high post, which sailed just high enough that the ball ricocheted off the goal and back into play. Connor Van Sise was able to collect the rebound from 20 yards out and just missed the far corner of the net, which was saved by the Raiders goalkeeper.

Hudson Valley appeared to score the tying goal in the second half, but officials raised the flag for an offsides, negating the goal and the Vikings once again trailed 1-0.

Hudson Valley will move forward as they are home this Thursday to take on Dutchess at 5 p.m. at the Outdoor Athletic Complex at Hudson Valley.
