Hudson Valley Community College men's soccer (7-4) have been playing very well of late as they have now won three straight games following their 5-1 win over Onondaga on Saturday afternoon in an important Region 3 match.

The Vikings were led by Sylvain Ngako (Yaounde, Cameroon/Lycée Technique Ekounou) and Ryan Willis (Petersburgh/Berlin) as the duo combined for all five scores on the day. Ngako helped the Vikings jump out to an early lead, scoring the first two goals of the game. Ngako's second goal was assisted by Jared Powell (Waterford/Waterford-Halfmoon).

Willis took over for the Vikings and scored the next three goals for his third hat trick of the season and his second in three games. Ngako assisted Willis' first goal of the game and Michael Gosh (Guilderland/Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons) assisted on his second goal, Vikings fourth goal of the first half.

Nate Langlois (Colonie/Colonie) had a great day in goal for the Vikings, allowing only one goal near the end of the game. Langlois finished the game with 17 saves on 18 shots faced.

The men's soccer team is back in action on Tuesday, October 16 and will play Bergen at 6 p.m.
