Hudson Valley Community College men's soccer (4-4) went on the road and were defeated 5-0 to No.1 ranked Herkimer on Wednesday afternoon.
The Vikings played the Generals tough in the first 31 minutes of the match, but the nation's top-ranked team answered with three goals in the next eight minutes to take a 3-0 advantage into halftime.
Herkimer added a pair of goals in the second half to defeat Hudson Valley 5-0.
Sylvain Ngako (Yaounde, Cameroon/Lycée Technique Ekounou) recorded the Vikings lone shot on goal and goalkeeper Nate Langlois (Colonie/Colonie) finished with five saves in 90 minutes of play.
The men's soccer team will now travel west to play Erie on Saturday, September 29 at 4 p.m. and Niagara on Sunday, September 30 at 2 p.m.
