The Hudson Valley Community College men's lacrosse team dropped its final home game 9-3 against a quality Herkimer program during a Mountain Valley Conference game on Monday evening at the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of HVCC.

The Vikings kept it close for the majority of the first half, which turned out to be a defensive battle as both teams were working to find an advantage throughout the first 30 minutes of the game. The Generals hit first, taking a 1-0 lead into the second quarter.

In the second quarter, the Vikings worked its way back into the game behind goals from Cole Duncan and Seamus Camenga. The Vikings held the Generals to two, second quarter goals and entered the halftime break trailing 3-2.

The second half was a different story for the Vikings and they were outscored by the Generals 6-1 and Hudson Valley was unable to make a run on a tough Herkimer defense, ultimately leading to a 9-3 defeat.

The men's lacrosse program enters its final game of the regular season this Sunday, April 21 as they travel to take on Monroe with a postseason berth on the line at 1 p.m. in Rochester, NY.
