The Hudson Valley Community College men's lacrosse team went on the road and defeated Mohawk Valley 13-4 on Tuesday evening in Utica, NY.

The Vikings improved to 5-3 on the year following its second straight win. The team jumped out early on the Hawks and were led by its leading scorer, Cole Duncan, who tallied five goals and two assists on 13 shots (8 shots on goal). Isaac Weber also had a great game for the Vikings, scoring four goals on five shots and collected seven ground balls.

In goal, Cole Bourgeois played 39 minutes and allowed just one goal with six saves. Matthew Trippany played the final 20 minutes of the game and allowed three goals and recorded three saves.

The Vikings were able to put together several runs as a result of Drake Kohler's overall success as the team's primary face-off person. Kohler won nine of the 17 face-offs he attempted, which allowed the Vikings to win the possession battle against the Hawks.

There isn't much time to rest as they are back in action on Friday, April 12 as they travel to take on Tompkins Cortland in a critical Region 3 matchup at 5 p.m. in Dryden, NY.
