The Hudson Valley Community College men's lacrosse team snapped its three-game losing streak as they defeated Delaware Tech 13-11 behind a herculean eight-goal game by Cole Duncan.

The Vikings and Delaware Tech traded goals throughout the first quarter of the game with the Vikings getting on the board first at the 13:50 mark. Cole Duncan scored his first goal of the game on an unassisted attack on net. Duncan would score four of the Vikings' five first quarter goals and Hudson Valley entered the second quarter leading 5-4.

In the second quarter, Hudson Valley managed to pull ahead and created some breathing room as they outscored Delaware Tech 4-2 in the quarter and entered the halftime break leading 9-6. Following the break, the defensive effort increased and both programs combined to score three goals during the period with Delaware Tech inching closer to the Vikings.

In the fourth, Delaware Tech continued to chip away and trailed 10-9 with 11:39 remaining in the game. The game remained close for the next four minutes before Hudson Valley scored three-straight with goals from Wilfred Wright, Dominick DiPiazza and Cole Duncan. Hudson Valley now led 13-9 with five minutes remaining in the game.

Delaware Tech did their best, pulling within two goals with less than two minutes but the Vikings were able to hold possession and secured their fourth win of the season.

Up next for the men's lacrosse team is a road game at Mohawk Valley on Tuesday, April 9th at 7 p.m. in Utica, NY.
