Matt Calicchia Named Region 3 Player of the Week

The Hudson Valley Community College men's lacrosse student-athlete, Matt Calicchia, was named the NJCAA Region 3 Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week, as announced by Region 3.

Matt had a great week for the Vikings as they finished with a 2-0 record with wins over Finger Lakes and Tompkins Cortland. Calicchia has been the offensive facilitator all season long; this week he tallied 12 assists to go with six goals. The two wins kept the Vikings within reach of securing a Region 3 playoff berth.

The men's lacrosse program awaits its fate to see if they have qualified for the NJCAA Region 3 Championships set for Saturday, April 29. The Vikings currently sit fourth overall in the standings and are expected to take on top-seeded Onondaga next weekend.
