Lacrosse Defeats Jefferson for Fifth Straight Win

Hudson Valley Community College men's lacrosse (6-3) extended their win streak to five straight following their 12-4 win at Jefferson on Saturday afternoon in Watertown, NY. 

The Vikings trio of Nathan Bruce (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville), Darren Nagy (Saugerties/Saugerties) and Austin Hinderliter (Ephratah/Johnstown) combined for 12 points as they all recorded four points each. Nagy led the team with four goals, while Bruce and Hinderliter each scored three goals with one assist. 

Nagy put the Vikings on the board with his first two goals of the game, giving Hudson Valley a 2-0 lead after one quarter. Bruce scored the next two goals for Hudson Valley and Hinderliter scored his first goal as the Vikings entered halftime with a 5-1 lead. 

Keeper Trevor Ham (Kingston/Kingston) recorded a game-high 15 saves for his seventh win of the year. Hudson Valley outscored Jefferson 7-3 in the second half to secure the win and improve to 7-3 on the season.

The Vikings men's lacrosse program will host Finger Lakes in their final home game of the regular season this Wednesday, April 17 at the Vikings Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College at 5 p.m.
