The Hudson Valley Community College men's lacrosse (2-3) ran into an offensive powerhouse this afternoon in No. 6 Genesee and were defeated 27-5 at the Vikings Outdoor Athletic Complex in Troy, NY.
Genesee jumped out early with a 4-0 lead before the Austin Hinderliter(Ephratah/Johnstown), found the back of the net for the Vikings. Hudson Valley cut into the lead and trailed 5-3 with 7:08 remaining in the first half.
The Cougars responded and scored 10 unanswered goals and took a 15-3 lead into the third quarter. Hudson Valley's Austin Mendel(Adams, Mass./Hoosac Valley) and Corbin Lafleur (East Greenbush/LaSalle Institute) scored the Vikings goals in the third and fourth quarters, respectively.
Nathan Bruce(Scotia/Scotia-Glenville) finished the game with one goal and one assist and led the Vikings with two points.
