Hudson Valley Community College men's lacrosse team (3-3) faltered on the road in an 11-1 defeat to Monroe Community College on Saturday afternoon in Rochester, N.Y.
The game got off to a slow start as both teams combined to score four goals in the first half of play with Monroe leading the Vikings 3-1 at the break. Aaron Thorpe (Malta/Ballston Spa), the Vikings leading scorer put Hudson Valley on the board in the second quarter as he slipped through Monroe's defense for the unassisted goal.
In the second half, Monroe's offense exploded as they scored eight straight goals on the Vikings defense to secure the 11-1 win.
The Vikings are set for their third consecutive road game as they travel to play Herkimer on Wednesday, April 4 at 5 p.m.
