The Hudson Valley Community College hockey team (12-10-2) earned the No. 3 seed in the National Tournament, taking place at the SUNY Broome Ice Arena on February 24, 25, and 26.
This year's tournament will be played in a round-robin format, where each game will be played until a winner is determined. When overtime is required, the team that scores first, wins.
Live radio broadcast of the games will be available for every game, courtesy of SUNY Broome, will begin 15 minutes before the puck drops and can be found at mixlr.com/2017-njcaa-hockey-tournament/events/. Streaming will only be available on Sunday and can be found at ttps://livestream.com/sunybroome/2017NJCAAhockey.
On Sunday, the champion will be the team with the best record. If there are two teams with the same record, the winner of that head-to-head game will be declared the champion. In case of a three team tie, the champion will be the team with the fewest goals allowed in the tournament. If there is still a tie, co or tri champions will be awarded.
The awards ceremony will take place immediately following the final game on Sunday.
