The Hudson Valley Community College hockey team (7-10-2) tied Mohawk Valley Community College (6-6-1) 2-2 on Wednesday evening.
Kyle Constanty (Beekmantown/Plattsburgh) scored the first goal of the game, assisted by Chris Breault (Agawam/Agawam, MA) and Evan Perkins (Brattleboro Union/Brattleboro, VT).
Near the end of the second period with the game tied at one, Sean Spohr (Westfield/Westfield, MA) edged the score in favor of the Vikings when he notched his second shorthanded goal of the season.
Hudson Valley's defense was unable to maintain the lead, allowing Mohawk Valley to score midway through the third. Both teams were unable to score in OT, resulting in the second tie of the season for the Vikings.
Goaltender Nate Muller (BFA/Highgate, VT) recorded 50 saves in the tie.
The men host Broome on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
