Golf Places 2nd in Three Weekend Matches

The Hudson Valley Community College men's golf program continued its run of second place finishes as they earned three runner-up plaques in all three matches they competed in this weekend. Saturday's Herkimer Invitational also served as the 2025 Mountain Valley Conference Championship, which was won by the Vikings program for the third consecutive season. The golf program previous won three straight conference titles from 1983-1985. 

Individually, Jonathan Reynolds won the Herkimer Invitational and was named the Individual Medalist for the Conference match. Reynolds posted an 18-hole score of 70, placing four strokes ahead of teammate Stephen Jordan and Niagara's Eliel Rodriguez and Ryan Kates. 

The golf program will now prepare for the NJCAA Region 3 Championships, hosted by Niagara, at the Glen Oaks Country Golf Course in East Amherst, NY. The two-day championship is set to begin on Monday, May 12th and conclude on Tuesday, May 13th with the top two programs earning a berth to the NJCAA national championship tournament at the Chautauqua Golf Course in Chautauqua, NY from June 4 - 7, 2025.
