Golf Concludes Season with 9th Place Finish at Nationals

The Hudson Valley Community College men's golf team closed out the final round with a team score of 357 on Friday afternoon at the 2024 NJCAA Division III Golf National Championship, hosted by the Chautauqua Golf Course in Chautauqua, NY.
Matthew Valoze was recognized by the NJCAA and the other golf programs for his incredible sportsmanship throughout the entire tournament and was awarded the NJCAA Sportsmanship Award. Valoze closed out the day with an 89 and finished the tournament with total score of 370.
During the final round, the Vikings were led by Jonathan Reynolds as he shot his personal-best over the last four days, a 77, and finished the tournament with an overall four-round score of 320, which placed him tied for 25th place.
Joshua Carr also had a nice day as he shot an 80 and totaled a final tournament score of 329, which placed him 38th overall. Cameron France finished 57th overall with a 91 in the final round and a total score of 345. Owen Hampson also finished Friday with a 91 and placed 64th overall with a four-round total of 355.
The Vikings conclude a successful season, which included winning back-to-back conference championships and was highlighted by a 17-stroke comeback at the NJCAA Region 3 Championships, which allowed the Vikings to clinch a team championship berth this week.
