Men's Golf Tied for Third After Day One of Regionals

The Hudson Valley Community College men's golf program completed the opening round of the NJCAA Region 3 championships with a 354 on Monday afternoon at the Glen Oak Golf Course in East Amherst, NY.

Jonathan Reynolds led the Vikings program with a team-best 83 during the opening round. Joshua Carr also shot in the 80s as he posted an 84 overall. Reynolds and Carr are in position to qualify as individuals for the 2024 NJCAA National Championships during the first week of June.

Rounding out the team score is Cameron France, who posted a 91 and Owen Hampson and Matthew Valoze posted a 96 and a 99, respectively.

Niagara currently leads the overall tournament with a 323-team score and Jefferson is in second place with a 337.

The golf team is back in action tomorrow, Tuesday, May 14 for the final day of the Region 3 championships.
