Golf Placed Second at Jefferson; Fair Shoots -1 (70)

The Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's golf teams competed at the Jefferson Golf Invitational at the Highland Meadows Golf Course in Watertown, NY.
The men's team has continued to improve week over week as they finished the 18-hole course with a season-best 304 team score, beating their previous best four-person score by 27 strokes. Individually, Sam Fair scored his career best score, shooting -1 (71), which placed him tied for third place overall.
Lane Jenkins and Markham Daly each tallied a 75 over the course of the 18-hole tournament and Devin Gilbert rounds out the team's four-person score as she finished the tournament with an 83. Riley McGovern also recorded a season-best but just missed out on the team's top-four scoring with an 88.
Sierra Yetto had her best day on the links as she scored a 112, her best score of the year by 12 strokes.
The golf team is back in action tomorrow, Saturday, May 6 as they travel to compete in the Herkimer Golf Invitational at the Mohawk Valley Country Club, their final tune-up before the NJCAA Region 3 Championships on May 13-14th.
