Golf Tees Off in 2019 Opener

The Hudson Valley Community College golf program teed off for the start of the 2019 season as they participated in the Lazers Invitational, hosted by Onondaga on Saturday, April 13 at Timber Banks Golf Club in Baldwinsville, NY. The Vikings finished sixth with a final score of 377.

Nick Schrowang (Catskill/Catskill), a 2018 NJCAA National Qualifier, led the way for the Vikings with a team-best score of 87 and just missed a top-10 finish.

Anthony Bisognano (Colonie/Colonie) and Nathan Fankhanel (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) each finished the 18-hole tournament with a 95. Rounding out the Vikings team score is Cole Stannard (Coxsackie/Coxsackie-Athens), who finished with a 100. 

Max Conti (Galway/Galway) posted a 114 on the day as the Vikings fifth golfer. The team scores are calculated by adding the best four individual scores. 

The golf program is back in action tomorrow, Sunday, April 14 as they participate in the Tompkins Cortland Panther Invitational at the Elm Tree Golf Course. The shotgun start is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
