The Hudson Valley Community College men's golf team finished up its inaugural season at the NJCAA Region 3 tournament at Timber Banks Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.

As a team, the Vikings placed fourth overall out of eight teams and Nick Schrowang (Catskill/Catskill) was named to the All-Region team following his sixth place finish in the two-day, 36-hole tournament.

Schrowang started the tournament with an 83 in day one and improved his score in day two with an 80 in his final round. With his individual success, he has earned a spot as an Individual National Qualifier for the NJCAA Tournament from June 4-8, 2018.

Scott Zwinge (Altamont/Guilderland) finished the tournament in 20th place with an 88 in day one and an 89 in day two. Kyle Young (Rotterdam/Mohonasen) earned a 23rd place finish with final scores of 92 and 87. Zach Swanteck (Troy/CBA) placed 29th with a 94 and a 90.

The Vikings are excited to build upon the 2018 momentum for next season. For all student-athletes interested in trying out for the 2018-19 men's and women's golf team, please contact head coach Alyssa Ruggiero at a.ruggiero@hvcc.edu.
