Golf Places Sixth at Tompkins-Cortland Invitational

Hudson Valley Community College men's golf was back in action today as they participated in and finished sixth at the Tompkins-Cortland Invitational at the Elm Tree Golf Course.

The weather continued to present the golfers with less than ideal conditions for the tournament but the Vikings played the course well, placing sixth overall out of 10 teams with a final team score of 330. The Vikings improved their overall score by 11 strokes from yesterday's Onondaga Invitational.

Nick Schrowang (Catskill/Catskill) earned the Vikings best finish, tying for eighth overall with a score of 77. Scott Zwinge (Altamont/Guilderland) improved his score by seven strokes as he finished today with a final score of 81.

Zach Swanteck (Troy/CBA) concluded his round with an 87 and Kyle Young (Rotterdam/Mohonasen) closed out the day with an 85.

Onondaga Community College placed first with a total team score of 309 and Brett Deerhouse from Onondaga was the individual winner with an overall score of 71.

The Vikings are back in action on Friday, April 20 when they travel to participate in the Mohawk Valley Invitational at the Oneida Community Golf Club.
