Catie Bell First Season at HVCC: 2017-18
Enters 7th season in 2023-24
Region 3 Coach of the Year: 2019-20
Conference Coach of the Year: 2019-20, 2022-23

Catie Bell enters her seventh year at Hudson Valley and her fifth season as the head coach of the Vikings men’s and women’s bowling program. The Capital Region native replaced longtime Hudson Valley coaching legend, Joe Prest, after 31 years at the helm.

In 2022-23, Coach Bell guided the co-ed bowling to the program’s 24th Mountain Valley Conference Championship and her second title since 2019-20. The program also placed runner-up at the Region 3 Championships and placed just outside the top-10 at the NJCAA National Tournament. Coach Bell earned her second Conference Coach of the Year award.

In 2021-22, the first season following the Covid-19 pandemic, the bowling program took a step back, but still placed inside the top-3 at the Conference Championships and placed fourth overall at the Region 3 championships.

Bell guided the men's bowling team to the program's eighth NJCAA Region 3 Championship, the program's first championship since 2012, and the team’s 23rd Conference title in 2019-20. The men's team also placed seventh overall in the NJCAA National Championship tournament. Coach Bell was named the Region 3 and the Mountain Valley Conference Coach of the Year awards as a result of the program’s championship run.

Bell spent the previous two seasons as Hudson Valley’s assistant bowling coach under Coach Prest. She managed travel, practices and implemented new training techniques to the Vikings practice program. In her first season as an assistant, Bell helped the Vikings advance to the Intercollegiate Team Championships Sectional Tournament for the first time since 2014.

Bell received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris University – Springfield, Ill. and is a registered volunteer with the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) and has obtained USBC Level 1 Coaching and Bronze Level certification.
