Bowling Sweeps Herkimer Match

The Hudson Valley Community College bowling program earned a clean sweep in the two conference matches on Friday afternoon in Herkimer, NY. The Vikings improved to 15-1 in conference play and are currently in first place overall as they finished the day with an 8-0 record, scoring 3,378 as a team in the first match and 3,281 in the second.

Sean Howlan had a great start to the day as he had six straight strikes to start the first game and ended it with five consecutive strikes on the back end to finish with a 279.Howlan went on to finish the first match with a team-best 761 series.

Brandon Barlow matched Howlan through the first six frames as he also accumulated six straight strikes to start the first game. Barlow went on to finish the first game with a 210 and tallied a 638 series in the opening match.

In the second game Matthew DiGiulio finished with a team-high 277 which included eight straight strikes. Highlighting the third game was AJ Wilcox who finished with a 279 after collecting nine straight strikes, breaking his personal high-game record by two pins.

In the second match of the day, Barlow continued his hot streak and started off with a 230 scores as he finished with a 669 series. Moving onto the second half to start Brandon started with a 230 and continued into the 2nd game shooting a 228. Daniel Goldston kicked off the second match with a 228 and finished with his best game, a 246 with a 645 series.

The bowling team is back in action on Sunday, January 28 when they travel to participate in the SUNY Westchester Classic at the Carmel Lanes in Carmel, NY.
