The Hudson Valley Community College bowling team placed second at the annual Hawk Invitational, hosted by Mohawk Valley Community College at the Kingpin Lanes on Sunday morning in Rome, NY.

The Vikings posted a grand total of 6,913 and place second behind our conference rivals, Mohawk Valley, who won the tournament with a total score of 6,982. The Vikings experienced fatigue following yesterday's emotion win at the Walter Hauck Memorial Tournament in Carmel, NY.

Daniel Goldston continued his strong start to the 2024 season as he placed second in the all-events standings with a total score of 1,408. Goldston had a high series of 733 and a high game of 279, where he bowled eight consecutive strikes. AJ Wilcox and Brandon Barlow tied for 12th place in the all events standings as they both posted a score of 1,146. Barlow bowled back-to-back 573 scores, which made him the most consistent bowler of the day.

Other bowlers who had strong performances included Taylor Masterson, who had a solid start in the second set of games, tallying a 560. Abby DeSiato continues to improve and had a high game score of 171. Nick Glastetter also had a nice day with a 903 total and high game of 168.

The bowling team returns to conference play this Friday, January 26 as they travel to Herkimer, NY for the Generals conference match. The Vikings are currently tied for first place in the conference standings with Mohawk Valley.
