Bowling Placed 12th at Nationals

The Hudson Valley Community College bowling program closed out a successful season following the three-day NJCAA National Championship Tournament, where the Vikings placed 12th overall with a team score of 12,943 pins.

The team got off to a slow start on day one of the tournament as they competed in the singles and doubles portions. As a team, the Vikings tallied a total score of 5,569. On Day two, the Vikings improved on their standings and reached as high as ninth place as they completed the five-man portion with a team score of 5,852. With the addition of the baker games, the Vikings dropped to their final standings, 12th place overall.

Parker Brown earned the team's top finish in the All-Events standings as he placed 13th overall with a total score of 2,505 and a 208.8 average. Brown finished with a doubles team score of 601 and a singles score of 616.

Willis Bickford placed 33rd overall with a score of 2,384 and a 198.7 average as he had a 533 doubles team score and a 588 singles score. Sean Howlan finished 46th overall (582 doubles / 569 singles) with a total score of 2,330 and a 194.2 average. Joseph Minehan placed 58th overall (497 doubles / 591 singles) with a total score of 2,218 and an average of 184.5.

Isabella Guyer finished 95th overall with a total score of 1,824 with 543 in the doubles portion and 449 in the singles portion of the championships. Aaron Wilcox had a 1,124 final score and Lexi Schillinger added 745 pins for the Vikings.

The Vikings bowling program had a successful season where Parker Brown was named the Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year following their 19-1 season to claim the conference championship. They also placed second behind a very talented Erie program in the NJCAA Region 3 championships with Brown and Bickford earning All-Region honors.
