Bowling Runner-Up at Region 3 Championships

The Hudson Valley Community College bowling program earned a second-place finish at the 2023 NJCAA Region 3 Championships, hosted by Mohawk Valley at the Kingpin Lanes in Rome, NY.

SUNY Erie won the Region 3 Men's title with a total score of 9,228 and the HVCC men's program finished runner-up with a final score of 8.480. As a team, they finished the Baker games portion in second with a score of 1,043.

Individually, the Vikings were led by Willis Bickford, who won the Singles Championship with a score of 853. Bickford also placed second overall in the All-Events standings after posting an official score of 1,650.

Parker Brown also had a tremendous singles portion as he placed third overall with a score of 835. Bickford and Brown teamed up for the Doubles portion of the Championships and placed third with 1,609 pins.

AJ Wilcox finished 18th in the singles portion with 673 pints and 13th in the doubles portion of the tournament as he teamed up with Sean Howlan, totaling 1,305. Howland added 636 pins in the singles portion.

Joseph Minehan placed 27th with 618 points, Isabella Guyer placed 32nd overall in the singles session with 563 pins HVCC alternates Alexa Schillinger and Christopher Hertle bowled well as Schillinger had a 525 and Hertle bowled a 510 in the singles portion.

The bowling program will now focus their efforts on preparing for the NJCAA National Championships on March 2-4th in Cheektowaga, NY.
