Bowling Wins Schenectady Conference Match; Up Next is Regionals

The Hudson Valley Community College bowling program won the final Mountain Valley Conference match of the regular season, which was hosted by SUNY Schenectady at the Boulevard Bowl in Schenectady, NY on Thursday.

The Vikings had three individuals post 600-plus triple scores, and were led by Willis Bickford, who finished with a team-best 715 series. During Bickford's individual runs, he posted scores of 215, 241 and 259. Parker Brown also finished with three straight 200-plus games to finish with a 661 series. Brown's three game scores were 212, 235 and 214. Freshman Sean Howlan posted a 645 series and his best game was the final game where he finished with a 247.

Isabella Guyer continues to bowl well for HVCC as she had a game-high of 184 and finished with a 533 triple, fourth best score on the team. AJ Wilcox added a 525 triple to the overall team score with consistent games of 174, 178 and 173. Chris Hertle was the extra-man and posted scores of 151,161 and 151 for a 463 series.

As a team, the Vikings tallied an additional 571 pins as part of the three baker games at the end of the match.

The bowling team returns to the lanes this weekend as they compete for a Region 3 Championship, hosted by Mohawk Valley, on Saturday, February 18 in Utica, NY. The team will have a tough lineup as they will go against strong programs like Erie and Mohawk Valley.
