The Hudson Valley Community College bowling program hosted the latest Mountain Valley Conference match and earned a 300-plus pin win at the East Greenbush Bowling Center in East Greenbush, NY.

As a team, Hudson Valley finished with a 4-0 record as they posted a final team score of 4,079, their best performance in a conference match to-date.

The Vikings jumped out to a quick start as Parker Brown started game one with five straight strikes and finished game one with a 246. Joseph Minehan also had a great first game, bowling six consecutive strikes and finished with a 244 game to pace the Vikings to start a busy afternoon. Willis Bickford posted a team-best 266 in the opening game as he sandwiched eight consecutive strikes between a pair of spares in frames two through nine.

In game two, the Vikings slowed down their momentum a little, but Minehan and Brown kept pace for the Vikings as they bowled 237 and a 236, respectively in the second game. Bickford closed out the second game strong as he connected on four straight strikes to finish with a 190. Isabella Guyer also finished strong and posted a 184 in the second game. Sean Howlan broke the 200-plateau and finished with a 214 to head into the final third game.

In the final game, Brown, Guyer, Howlan and Bickford all kicked off the game with turkeys, rolling three consecutive strikes. Brown pushed it to four straight and Guyer hit five in a row to start the game. The highlight of the game was Bickford who hit the first six frames for strikes and he finished the game with a 243. Brown earned the high-game in the final round as well, scoring a 279 for a team best 761 triple score.

The bowling program will hit the road this weekend as they compete in the Tiger Cup on Saturday, Feb. 11 and the Brick City Classic on Sunday, Feb. 12, both in Rochester, NY.
