Men's Bowling 10th, Women 14th After Day Two of NJCAA Championships

RESULTS

The Hudson Valley Community College's men's and women's bowling programs completed the first two days of the three-day NJCAA National Tournament on Friday, March 6 in Cheektowaga, NY. 

The women kicked off the tournament on Thursday with the singles and doubles portion of the championships and continued into Friday with the first block of Five-Man bowling. After the first two days, the women are sitting in 14th place overall with a combined score of 5,209. The women posted a singles and doubles score of 3,452 and were led by Jordan Thomas, who finished the singles portion in 26th place with a score of 512. In the three-game series, Thomas posted scores of 191, 142 and 179. 

The men did not start until Friday with their singles and doubles portion of the tournament and closed out the day with the first Five-Man block. At the end of the day on Friday, the men were in 10th place overall with a score of 7,587. The men picked up some ground in the overall standings following a 5,014 score in the singles and doubles portion, which placed them in 11th place. Christian Caputo posted the team's best singles score with a 600, which was good for a top-10 finish. Caputo's triple score came from individual game scores of 189, 209 and 200. 

The NJCAA Championship concludes on Saturday afternoon when the men's and women's programs complete the second Five-Man block before they head to the men's and women's Baker games.
